Party 4

There actually was a party 4. Our pre-school lesson this week was about Halloween as well. We've really gotten a lot of use out of these costumes.

From left: Wolfie, Tiger, Tinker Bell, Firefighter on a break, Little Red

Animals, fairies and people all need to snack.

Stay tuned. I am working on a special post for tomorrow.

Party 3

The third Halloween party was more of a Halloween playgroup. We have this tradition to host a costumed playgroup and taking a group shot of all the children in our group. In the past, the picture taking is a stressful event filled with tears, screams, shrieks, escape attempts and yells. (Don't make the assumption that the kids are doing all these things. The moms sure did participate.) This year, I thought we actually did quite well. Of course we still didn't get a picture in which everyone looked at the camera (in all fairness, there were at least 6 cameras flashing away) but I think between these two pictures from my camera, we can at least see all the precious little faces.

Here is how we got it done:

Party 2

The second party we went to was the MOMS Club party. It's a little more low key. We had great weather and the host family has a wonderful outdoor area for all the kids to run around. We had a grand time and the pot-luck food was yum yum yum.

Gramama and Little Red enjoying some fine dining.

While Wolfie was a good sport it got pretty hot wearing his fur/fleece head piece. Here are pictures of Wolfie on a break.

These were our contribution to the buffet table.

Party 1

We went to three Halloween parties in the past three days. Talk about spirit! The first one we went to was Brett's company party. These parties are always super fun and the costumes are totally awesome. I wish I had more pictures of the costumes but we got there kind of late and it was dark inside so I didn't take a lot of pictures. I know there is a company website with all the impressive costume pictures. I will try and find the address. In the mean time, these are our pictures.

Picture taken from the third floor looking down at the dance floor.

I don't have a lot of pictures of baby because he was moving around too much. He totally LOVED watching people dance and LOVED the loud music.

Kira participated in ghost bowling...

... and pumpkin tic-tac-toe.

Pumpkins Galore!

I took the kids to a local pumpkin patch today. The weather was gorgeous and we had a lot of fun.

"So many to choose from..."

"What about this one?"

"Look, baby."

"Em.... this one does look funny."

"I think I want this one!"

"I am a dainty little girl, so I want this little one."

"I found a whole bunch more."

"Are you mocking me? Are you saying I am bald and I look like a pumpkin myself? Just you wait, I am going to put you in my mouth and slim all over you."

Don't they make a cute couple? They went on the tracker ride while the baby did something else... something way more... dirty.

I know little boys are made of snips and snails and puppy dog tails but no one ever told me they are made of dirt! Baby had a very serious look on his face the whole time we were at the pumpkin patch. It wasn't until he was COMPLETELY covered in dirt that I got a smile on his face. What that about?? Seriously, enlarge these pictures and look at the dirt.

Why does he like digging so much? Later, I found sand, rocks, twigs and leaves in his diaper. He is wearing a overall that doesn't have an opening on the crotch. How did he do that????

I kept trying to take a picture of the two kids together. Finally, this picture is a result of me saying, "Kira, hug your brother or we are leaving right now."

Finally, here is a video of Kira taunting the ghosts. After we left the pumpkin patch, I asked Kira what she thought and all she said was, "I love my Dylan (her partner in crime) and I love ghosts."

Final Touches

I have finished a few more details for our costumes.

First, Little Red'd goodies basket. It contains a couple of Halloween cookies and a slice of chocolate cake.

Can't you just see her serving up afternoon tea?

Finally, I found Brett a shirt and made him an axe to go with his woodsman costume.

These, unlike things I have made in the past are all sewn by hand. I don't have the best hand sewing skills but working with felt has been a lot of fun. I highly recommend it.

Fiesta On The Hill

We went to a street fair called Fiesta On The Hill over the weekend and it was a lot of fun.

There were lots of political campaigning, such as these guys. (the clown was the grumpiest I have ever met)

There was a petting zoo that was super busy so the kids didn't get to go in.

The main reason we went was because of a bake sale that I worked at. It was fun but, boy, was it cold. We kept expecting the sun to come out but it just got colder and colder.

After all that excitement, we finished the day with an Indian feast. Baby was impatient since I fed him before we went to the restaurant. He eventually settle down a little after Brett put him on his lap and let him chew on this glow stick.

So, it was a fun filled day and the most extraordinary of all, Brett took care of the kids solo most of the day. I have to say he did a marvelous job and the kids had a great time. This is shown by the fact that at night, Kira kept saying, "no mommy. I want daddy." One day of fun and now Brett is her BFF and I am chopped liver.

Five

Baby has learned to high five us.
video

Five is the number of blocks you should be able to stack by the time you are 18months to 2 years. It's supposed to be some developmental milestone. Look at my overachieving daughter.

Five is also the number of times we asked her to smile before I captured this somewhat sincere smile. This girl is the queen of fake smile. Some (Brett) would argue that I had taught Kira to fake smile and therefore have ruined the girl.

Five is the number of minutes it took Hayden to finish 4 oz of formula - even with Kira on the side constantly asking him if it's her turn yet.

Finally, five dollars is how much we paid for this awesome solid wood doll crib at a garage sale! Score!

Accident

Local woman found unconscious in her own living room. She appeared to have been gnawed on drooled on by a vicious beast cute furry baby wolfie. The attack is believed to have been caused by the foolish woman taunting the animal. She is now in stable but drenched condition.

How Do You Waste Your Time?

Brett thinks I look like a drag queen on most of these. It's a bad picture of me to start with. I just took a quick picture using the built in camera on my computer so I could get playing right away. This is the website I used. Now that I am looking at these, it's like an early Halloween party for one.
